The insulation layer in the Reencle chamber is concentrated along the base and lower walls, keeping the internal temperature at the optimal level for microbial activity. However, this consistent warmth also causes moisture to evaporate — especially if food is not added frequently.
Signs that your microbes are too dry:
Fine dust (powder) visible on the inner walls or mesh filter
Dust coating the mesh filter
Audible dry friction noise when the stirring rod rotates
Microbes crumble immediately when handled — won't hold shape
What happens when microbes dry out:
They enter a dormant (spore) state and stop decomposing food. Adding food at this stage will result in unprocessed food sitting in the chamber, generating odors.
💧How to Rehydrate Dry Microbes
Add water gradually and evenly over the entire microbe surface until visibly moist throughout.
Wait approximately half a day (6–8 hours) before adding any food.
Start with a small amount of easy-to-decompose food: bread or crackers.
Confirm decomposition is occurring normally before increasing input quantities.
Gradually increase food input: 300g → 500g → 700g, following the gradual ramp-up schedule.

⚠️ If you see dust on the mesh filter, remove and clean it immediately — rinse with water and scrub with a brush. Also wipe or vacuum any dust residue from the slot where the mesh filter sits. When reinstalling the mesh filter, push it in firmly until you hear a clear click — this confirms it is properly secured and will not fall into the chamber. If you did not hear a click, remove it and reinsert it until it clicks into place. |
