⚫What are the 4 key factors for healthy microbe cultivation?Updated 2 hours ago
Healthy, active microbes in your Reencle depend on four key factors:
Moisture — The most important factor requiring regular attention from the user
Optimal Temperature — Automatically maintained as long as your Reencle remains powered on
Airflow — Proper air circulation inside the chamber supports healthy microbial activity
Diverse Nutrients — A variety of food inputs provides the nutrients microbes need to stay active
The two most critical factors: Temperature and Moisture
Of the four factors, temperature and moisture are the most critical for maintaining healthy, active microbes.
Temperature is managed automatically. As long as your Reencle remains powered on, the chamber maintains the appropriate temperature for microbial activity.
Moisture requires regular attention. If food is added too infrequently or in small amounts, the microbes may gradually dry out.
What happens when microbes dry out?
When the microbes become too dry:
They can enter a dormant (inactive/spore) state, reducing their decomposition activity.
Food added while the microbes are dormant may not decompose properly and can cause unpleasant odors.
If dryness continues, the microbes may break down into a fine powder that can repeatedly clog the mesh filter, even after cleaning.
If a clogged mesh filter is not addressed, fine dust and debris may reach the carbon filter, potentially contaminating it and shortening its lifespan.
The standard replacement cycle for the carbon filter is 9–12 months, but a contaminated filter may need to be replaced sooner.
How to keep your microbes healthy
Regularly check the moisture level of your microbes using the Squeeze Test and take action if they become too dry.
