📍 When to Harvest — The MAX LineUpdated 4 hours ago

How to Harvest Your Reencle Compost

Overview

As your Reencle processes food over time, the microbe and compost volume inside the chamber will gradually increase. When it reaches the MAX line, it is time to harvest.

For instructions on curing and using your harvested compost, see: 👉 How to Use Reencle Compost: Mulching vs. Planting

📍 When to Harvest — The MAX Line

Location

⚠️ Always keep the microbe level at or above the MIN line after harvesting. If levels fall below the MIN line, the stirring rod cannot mix effectively, food decomposition may stop, and odors may develop.

🪓 Step-by-Step: Harvesting

  1. Open the large lid for full access to the chamber.

  2. Scoop out material using the included handy shovel until the level returns to the MIN line. Do not go below the MIN line.

  3. Sieve the harvested material — pass it through a mesh sieve or the Sifter Scoop to separate any undecomposed food scraps.

    • Undecomposed pieces: return them to the Reencle chamber.

    • Fully decomposed material: set aside for curing or immediate use (see next steps).

  4. Close the lid and resume normal use.

💡 Tip: Sieving is an important step. Undecomposed food left in the compost can attract insects during curing. See: 👉 Curing Troubleshooting — White Mold & Insects

What's Next?

Once harvested, your next step depends on how you plan to use the compost:

  • Mulching — can be used immediately, no curing required

  • Planting or seeding — requires 3–4 weeks of curing first
