🚪 Getting to Know Your Reencle Gravity/Gravity Pro — Lid DesignUpdated 41 minutes ago

Overview

Dual-lid design: the small lid opens/closes automatically (foot sensor or Open button) for everyday use; the large lid opens manually for maintenance, larger inputs, or unrestricted open time.

Small Lid

Opening Options

  • Foot sensor: Slowly move your foot or hand toward the sensor from the front of the unit, as if covering it — motion detection triggers the lid to open.
  • Open button: Press the Open button on the top panel to trigger the same function.
  • Auto-close: The lid stays open 7–10 seconds (fixed, not adjustable) before closing automatically, or press the Open button once to close it immediately.

Tips for Better Sensor Recognition

  • Keep a moderate distance — too close may prevent detection.
  • Avoid rapid or waving motion near the sensor.
  • Bare feet or light-colored footwear are recommended; dark shoes may reduce sensitivity.

⚠️ Do not force the small lid shut during the auto-open cycle — this can strain and damage the lid and cover motor.

⚠️ Keep a 1-meter radius in front of the foot sensor clear of objects or reflective surfaces (glass, mirrors), which can trigger unintended openings.

⚠️ Never insert foam or objects into the foot sensor — this causes continuous false detection, leading to repeated unintended openings and potential motor damage over time.

Large Lid

Used for:

  • Scooping out finished compost
  • Adding larger volumes of food scraps, or keeping the lid open without time limit
  • Inspecting or manually mixing microbes
  • Maintenance and cleaning

Diagonal measurement: 38cm (~15 in).

Opening: Manual only — lifts by hand, stays open as long as needed.

Safety Design

A built-in magnetic sensor stops the stirring rod whenever either lid is open, resuming rotation ~10–15 seconds after the lid is fully closed. This is a permanent, non-disable safety feature.

💡 If the small lid won't open via sensor or button, the unit may be in Lock Level 1 or 2.
